From 2020 we decided to add another level to the concept of ‘reuse’ that’s always been at the heart of our ethos when selling pre-loved items: why not making our own designs, from our customers’ measurements with other brands’ leftovers?!

WHY MADE-BY?
Dealing with vintage is an incredible source of inspiration, technical and cultural knowledge, although it can be limiting in terms of growth: all our efforts are dedicated to one piece and one only.
We believe that independent and small businesses like ours can thrive in our current times, yet we need to adjust to the ever-changing needs of our customers, while maximising every activity we do and minimising waste of resources.
HOW IS IT GREEN?
Made-by-Tug is our way of enriching our range of products while committing to our ethos focused on reusing what’s already populating our planet.
We base our work on reclaiming fashion ‘waste’ of every form: from pre-loved garments to end-of-roll fabrics.
Anything we can do to divert textile waste from landfill, makes us happy.
WHAT IS WASTE?
Contributing to the evolution of the definition of ‘waste’ is one of our main goals.
We are on the verge of a total overturning of what we mean with that term and we can feel this powerful zeitgeist. Many industries are now considering recycling as the new mining of precious materials.
The Waste Revolution is here and we are proud to offer to our customers a wide range of options for the conscious shopper.
WHY PREORDER?
The formula of made-to-order is another answers to avoid waste, while challenging to a different kind of shopping pleasure.
We believe that love can be a waiting game. In this case, we aim for it to be of maximum 2 weeks. This is the time you can enjoy the exciting flavour of the longing for something desired.
In other words, we believe that waiting for someone to personally make something you love, will not only make us all appreciate the value behind the garment itself, but it will also help us question time.
Do we really need everything immediately and now?! Asking for a friend ;D

The volume is incredible and you won't stop playing with it. Walking anywhere in it will make you feel like you just stepped on a catwalk.

You know we are inspired by sailors and maritime life: here is an oversized work jacket, working as a spring coat.
The fabric is a dream: it's 100% silk heavy satin, giving structure yet the softest of touch.
At the back we added a big vent to walk around in total ease, even wearing a maxi dress underneath.

The belt on the waist is extra long for you to decide how much you want your waist to be covered.

The Olimpia shirt is the first style we ever developed in our atelier. What particularly attracts us is the adaptability of this piece.
The wrap around belt rests perfectly on the waist and the skirt-like bottom part raises the hips and therefore makes the legs look longer.
The puffy and extra deep cuff, turns this shirt into a dreamy top that can pimp any look up even if you are matching it with jeans.
The belt can be used to tighten the waist and can be knotted at the front or at the back. We prefer when the knot is at the back, but if you are a fan of bows, you can make a very beautiful one at the front.

Blossom is our one of a kind dress made of so many metres of silk chiffon, you can't even imagine. even though it covers up to the neck, the fabric is so fine that it feels like wearing nothing.
Underneath the fine chiffon you can find more silk, yet less see-through, covering whatever you may not want to be seen.
Just twirling in it is an experience per se.
We made it with the lime base, which reads almost as yellow after dip dying it into cerulean (and creating this gorgeous degradé effect). We have to admit that we were very nervous when doing it: we had to dye it once the entire garment was finished.
It was a risk but it paid off so much! We called this dress blossom because it recalls us of a beautiful flower just about to bloom.
